Driver critically injured in I-95 crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A 24-year-old was critically injured in a crash on Interstate 95 at Baymeadows Road in Jacksonville on Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

State troopers said Bailey Turner, of St. Augustine, was driving southbound about 8:40 a.m. Turner failed to maintain position in the left lane and struck the left side of a pickup truck in the center lane.

Turner's car traveled across all three lanes and spun onto the grass shoulder, then backward striking two trees with the driver's side.

The pickup, driven by 31-year-old Joushua Huggins, of Jacksonville, overturned on the grass shoulder.

Turner was taken to Orange Park Medical Center, and a 2-year-old girl also in the car was taken to Wolfson Children's Hospital with minor injuries.

Huggins was taken to St. Vincent's Medical Center with minor injuries.

All three involved were wearing seat belts. Troopers said charges are pending.
