JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A phone and cable issue at Jacksonville International Airport that was causing longer wait times early Friday has been repaired.
Airport officials tweeted around 5:40 a.m. that "Severed telecomm line off airport property has been repaired. Operations normal."
After midnight, airport officials were urging people to print their boarding passes at home before arriving to the airport. That is no longer necessary.
Fliers should also arrive early and allow extra time to get to their flight. News4Jax is working to confirm that it is no longer necessary to arrive earlier than normal
The problem was first reported on the airport's official social media account around 11:00 p.m. when JAX posted the following message on their Facebook page:
"IMPORTANT NOTICE: A telecommunications line has been severed off airport property causing phone and connectivity outages. Be sure to check in to your flight and print boarding passes before coming to the airport. Airlines may have to manually check in passengers, so arrive early. Airlines may have to prepare bag tags manually."
