Wet Weather Today

Expect increasing coverage of light, passing showers today

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We are waking up to mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the low to mid 60s. Southeastern Georgia is already seeing light showers tracking across the area. We can expect increasing chances for rain through the mid-morning hours along the state line. You can expect chances for showers to the south of the state line by the afternoon hours and into the evening hours as well. There's a chance for isolated thunderstorms especially after 5 PM. Winds are lighter today than previously, out of the East in between seven and 12 mph. Your high temperatures today will depend greatly upon where  you are. Across southeastern Georgia, where we will see the most frequent and constant showers, temperatures will top out in the mere mid to upper 60s. Temperature sin Jacksonville will ease through the 60s under mostly cloudy skies and end up in the mid 70s for an afternoon high. Our southern areas, from Gainesville to Palatka to St Augustine, will see the fewest showers and clouds, and will top out in the 80s. The good side of today's wet weather is the reduction in pollen and allergens, but they will return over the weekend.
