JACKSONVILLE,Fla. – Most of the time we get lucky with the weather in November since its our driest month. As the transition to autumn continues, temperatures can swing from record tying highs we had this week to cool snaps like we will see this weekend.
It is the time of the year when numerous outdoor events fill up the weekends before raw and colder events become more common by January.
This weekend we get a taste of cool air with a cold front passing through Friday afternoon. Only spotty showers are possible during the afternoon before dry air moves in for the weekend.
The wind will be an issue for boaters and could make the blowing sand irritating at the Sea and Sky Air Spectacular. Clouds won't be a concern for Blue Angel pilots but temperatures will top out around 70 making for cool and gusty conditions on the beach.
Cooler weather is welcoming for football fans. At Saturday's Navy vs. Notre Dame at EverBank Field, you will need a jacket for the earlier kickoff at 11:30 am. Temperatures start out in the mid 60s and reach the low 70s by the afternoon. Bring your sunglasses.
Northwest Classic is a huge event celebrating students and alumni from Raines and Ribault High School. Plan on wearing a sweater for the parade on Saturday at 8am from the Shoppes of Sherwood to Raines High School. After the parade there will be Tailgating at Raines then kickoff for the Raines/Ribault Football Game at 2 pm.
Remember the Jacksonville Fair is FREE entry with Navy v Notre Dame Game Day ticket from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM. If you are staying after sunset temperatures will drop quickly into the mid 50s.
Sunday morning will be the coolest all week. Temperatures will range from the upper 40s west of town to the low 60 at the coast. Highs top out in the mid 70s Sunday along with a mild warm up into Election Day.
