Timing of weekend showers

Rain may sneek in for Monster Jam

Model forecast for rain shown in green is far more fragmented indicating less rain for Saturday compared to pervious runs earlier.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Weekend plans outside around Jacksonville may require dodging showers Saturday afternoon but the forecast is starting to look less wet as we head into the weekend.

After a perfect sunny Friday temperatures will warm into the weekend but clouds increase.

This weekend the Monster Truck Jam comes to EverBank Field and it will be warmer than most years. Saturday's pit party should see temperatures around 76 in the afternoon with warm southwest breezes.  Temperatures cool into the mid 60s by the 7 pm show time.

There is some concern for showers Saturday. A line of rain will press eastward Saturday morning across the panhandle but many models break down the band or rain as it tracks into NE Florida Saturday afternoon and evening. Look for a 40% chance of showers most likely during the Truck Jam. Some rain overnight should clear south of St. Augustine by sunrise Sunday.

Sunday holds a better guarantee for dry weather and sunnier skies. It will be pleasant with temps in the low 70s. An earlier start around 2 pm means you will want to remember the sunscreen as the sun blazes.
