Spring Break forecast for Duval county

March 20th - March 24th is Duval county's Spring Break this year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Duval County's 2017 Spring Break is March 20th - 24th and the weather is warming up just in time. After one of the latest cold snap/freezes on record the week prior, the temperatures rebound for Spring Break into the 70s and 80s for the afternoon hours. 

Staycation

If you are planning a relaxing staycation in town you can expect a mild start to Spring break- Monday we will be back in the low 70s for an afternoon high under sunny skies. Tuesday looks like the best beach day as we will hit 81° in town and the mid to upper 70s at the beach. Wednesday will be the warmest day as we venture into the mid 80s in town for the afternoon high and upper 70s at the beach under partly cloudy skies.  A few clouds roll in Thursday, along with a 40% chance for showers. The mostly cloudy skjies will hold afternoon temperatures into the upper 60s. We level off for the rest of Spring Break with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 70s. Sunday may help you get back into school mode with decent chances for showers and clouds. 

Daytona Beach

Headed to the world-famous Spring Break destination Daytona Beach? This weekend, expect sunny skies and light to calm winds. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to low 70s. Monday - Wednesday will be clear and sunny, with afternoon highs in the 70s. Thursday, expect partly sunny skies (in between partly cloudy and mostly cloudy,) with a 20% chance for showers and afternoon highs in the mid 70s. Expect building Easterly winds between 5-15 mph. 

Pensacola 

Saturday will be mostly sunny and breezy. afternoon highs will be in the low 70s and Westerly winds will be between 10-15 mph, gusts up to 20 mph. Sunday will be sunny, 71° with Norhterly winds between 10-15 mph.  Monday the winds calm down a bit, out of the East, becoming Southerly at 5 mph. Afternoon highs will be in the low 70s. Tuesday and Wednesday will be sunny with afternoon highs around 72 degrees and west winds at 10 mph. Thursday, expect mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs in the low 70s. 

Destin

Destin looks beautiful, but windy for the weekend, with mild low 70s for afternoon highs, sunny skies, and West/Northwesterly winds between 10-15 mph, gusts as high as 20 mph. The wind calms down Monday, out of the East  between 5 and 10 mph. Expect afternoon highs for the week between 71 and 73 degrees. The clear sunny skies carry through Thursday, with winds around 10 mph. 

Orlando

Orlando is one of the warmer locations in the state this week. For the weekend, afternoon highs will be in the upper 70s with sunny skies. Monday will be milder, in the mid 70s for the afternoon hours with light winds out of the North. Tuesday and Wednesday, expect sunny skies and afternoon highs in the low 80s. Thursday the clouds move in a bit, making for partly cloudy skies and an isolated chance (20%) for showers. 

The Keys

If you are headed down to the Keys- first of all, I am jealous, 2nd of all eat some fresh seafood for me. Saturday, expect mostly sunny skies and afternoon highs of 77 degrees. Skies will be partly cloudy wit a 10% chance for an isolated shower. Its a tad breezier than fisherman would like, with Northeast winds at 15 mph. Sunday will be mostly sunny, mid 70s for the afternoon hours and NE winds at 10 mph.  Monday & Tuesday the winds are back up out of the Northeast, between 12-17 mph.  Afternoon highs for the week will be in the mid to upper 70s with only 10% chances for an isolated shower.
