The feel of winter returns to Florida this week

Chill moves in tonight

The week starts cool but ends warmer.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The warmth we had Sunday is going away until the end of the week and get ready for a cold night with a chilly start to the work week.

The weak line of showers Sunday afternoon pushes south of us this evening with dry air taking over all week long. The next chance for rain will be next weekend with models targeting Sunday as the wet one.

Until then temperatures dip down into the mid 40s overnight thanks to a cold front that pushed by this evening. Monday temperatures drop down to a typical January winter day with lows tonight in the 40s and highs Monday reaching the mid 60s across Jacksonville to upper 50s to 60s over southern Georgia.

Temps mainly range in the 40s at night this week with highs in the 60s until the 70s return Thursday through Saturday.

A strong cold front may arrive Sunday with rain to end the weekend.
