Storms remain active the next two afternoons

Wet pattern lasts a couple of more afternoons

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The unsettled pattern continues through late Wednesday with scattered showers and thunderstorms.  High pressure builds north steering in a slightly cooler and drier air mass with a reduction in daily afternoon storms. 

Today:  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will develop around the lunch hour and continue through late evening, 70 percent.  Isolated showers and storms will start around the lunch hour and continue to develop through evening.  Locally heavy rainfall possible north of I-10 and across southeast Georgia.  Afternoon highs in the upper 80s to low 90s inland, mid 80s along the beaches.  SW 5-10 mph.



Wednesday:  Cloudy with scattered showers and storms, 60-70 percent.  The offshore flow will continue to push showers and storms from the Gulf toward the Atlantic.  Locally heavy rainfall possible.  Wake up temperatures in the upper 60s to 70s.  Afternoon highs in the 80s to low 90s area wide.  Wind SW 5-10 mph.


Looking ahead: Seasonal temperatures with drier air will return to the River City Thursday, Friday.
