Record challenging heat this weekend

Jacksonville's weather forecast looks hot and dry this weekend

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – We started out in the comfortable low 70s with clear skies and calm winds. Expect sunny skies and light winds. Temperatures will climb quickly into the low 90s by the lunch hour.

The afternoon will be spent in the mid to upper 90s, with afternoon highs hitting 97°. If we hit 97° we will break our high temperature record for today, which is 96° set in 1951. The feels like temperature will be around 103°. There are no chances for showers and the clear skies continue into the evening hours.

Sunday will be a repeat of Saturday, with nice morning temperatures in the low 70s. Expect sunny, dry skies and calm winds. Temperatures will soar into the mid to upper 90s for the afternoon hours, topping out at 97°. If you are headed to the Jaguars game, the entire game will be played in the mid to upper 90s with feels like temperatures hitting 104°. 

Monday will be hot again, starting out in the low 70s and warming up into the mid 90s. Expect mostly sunny skies and light winds. 

The heat fades slightly on Tuesday, with partly cloudy skies and low 90s anticipated.

Wednesday kicks off an ever-so-slightly cooler weather pattern, with temperatures topping out in the upper 80s under partly cloudy skies. An isolated chance for afternoon showers creeps back into the forecast on Friday.
