Good Saturday and Bad Sunday as storms return

Jacksonville gets one day to do whatever that needs to be done outside and then on Sunday...

Wake-up conditions will be pleasant

The tropics are super busy with our first Hurricane (Hanna) hitting Texas right now and Gonzalo a weakening tropical storm hitting the Windward Islands. These are just big reminders that the hurricane season is in full swing, way ahead of schedule. Please DO get into the swing of it too! Time to go through your check list, if you need a reminder head to our hurricane section.

Today will be the vastly better day to be outside, even if storms roll in here fairly late in the day on Sunday. Both days will see highs around 90° and beaches will have the better weather pattern. Be aware of the solar radiation (lots of sunshine) as the UV index is an 11 today (extreme range), this means sunscreen and beach umbrellas. Morning temperatures, under muggy conditions will be in the 70s to around 80°. Light southeasterly winds will make beach going very pleasant.

Then tropical moisture will surge back across the area during the day on Sunday and showers/storms/downpours will remain very active from Sunday through Friday. Yep, an entire week with high potential for showers and storms.

Get your umbrellas ready, they are about to get a work out.
