Heat Advisory in effect today as feels-like temps reach 108

This summer cooler days have outnumbered the hotter ones

Areas in red covering much of Florida and southern Georgia are zones in the Heat Advisory where the heat indexes could surpass 108 degrees.

It is the middle of the summer and by all accounts, the fact it’s hot outside should not be any news. Yet we have actually had it pretty easy this summer.

Today’s Heat Advisory is a metric only seen two other times over the summer but today the heat and humidity will make it feel like 108 or higher over inland locations.

That’s pretty hot but it may be hard to complain about the seamy conditions.

This summer has been mild on us. Only two days have reached 95 and never hotter this year. Also, every month since March has been cooler than average.

Try and withstand the heat today and tomorrow because it is just a short-term heat streak.

This weekend the heat breaks slightly but just wait... the real drop starts in September when afternoon temps start averaging lower from 89 at the start of the month to 85 just before October.

We are almost there!
