It’s hot, but tomorrow will turn out even hotter

Some rain is in the forecast to help break the heat

.

The heat is piling on and don’t expect much relief from the rain. Today will be dry for most of us with a small chance for storms early this evening around Alachua, Putnam and southern Clay counties. Our afternoon in the 90s will break down into the 80s after 5 pm with mostly clear skies.

You can expect to see more patchy to dense fog overnight covering inland areas.

Tomorrow will be the hottest day of the week with near record highs. The record is 97, and we could reach at least 94°. Morning sunrise temperatures will be in the upper 60s to low 70s. The day will be mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies and mainly dry.

Rain returns Friday and the pattern gives way to more storms continuing over the weekend. The humidity increase and clouds will mark a break in the streak of +90° days.
