More than 75,000 fans attended the inaugural Florida Country Superfest this past weekend at EverBank Field, according to organizers.
People from all 50 states came to the concerts featuring Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and more.
The producer/director, Quint Davis, released this statement late Sunday night:
"The first Florida Country Superfest succeeded in delivering the most vital festival feeling -- the magic that happens when you bring together a rare gathering of today's greatest superstars, put them on the biggest and baddest stage production, and put them together with a stadium full of their most devout fans. That energy and interplay between artist and audience is what makes a festival great. That's when culture becomes community. We are grateful to the leadership of the City of Jacksonville, the Jaguars, and SMG, the managers of EverBank Field, for the roles they played in making this world-class festival a reality."
Country music fans sat through hot temperatures to see their favorite artists perform on Saturday and Sunday.
"It's really hot outside," said Breianna Sapp.
Handheld fans, water and a little shade were really the only option for people who wanted to stick through the entire day, and a lot of them made it because the stands were packed full of people getting their country on.
"It's hot out here," said Mitch Rossi.
"I had to change clothes because I was wearing a cotton T-shirt earlier. Now I got my Colombia. It's all good now," said Jeremy Wilson. "Can't wait for Luke Bryan to come on."
Did we mention it's hot?
"It's really hot outside," said Beth Dibble. "My phone said it's a real feel of almost 100 degrees out there and in the 10 minutes it took to pack up from tailgating, just being in the sun, I got overheated."
No matter the weather, people said the concert is exactly what Jacksonville needed.
"We've been to country concerts at the veterans a hundred times and we're just glad we got a bunch of artist at the stadium all at once. It's great," said Cortnee Alexander.
