1 dead, 1 wounded in Gainesville shooting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – One man is dead and a female was wounded after a shooting in Gainesville Monday afternoon.

Isadore Lee, 26, died at the hospital from his injuries and 28-year-old Lakeya Steward was transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Alachua County deputies said they received multiple calls at 1:51 p.m. in reference to a shooting in the Holly Heights area.

When deputies arrived on scene, they found one man and a woman with gunshot wounds.

Investigators said the shooting may have been the result of a disturbance between two or more individuals.

A number of witnesses fled the scene after a person pulled out a gun and opened fire, according to the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood, interviewing potential witnesses and processing the crime scene.

Officers with the Gainesville Police Department are also assisting in the investigation.

A cash reward of $1,000 is offered to anyone who can provide information that leads to an arrest and recovery of a firearm. All callers can remain anonymous, by calling Crime Stoppers at 352-372-7867.
