Auto body shop fire investigated

JFRD says fire is suspicious

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department was investigating an auto body shop fire on the Southside on Monday evening.

Sources told News4Jax that cars were on fire inside 911 Collision at 4910 Victor Street.

Flammable liquids are being controlled by the Hazmat team.

JFRD, who was able to get the fire under control quickly, called the fire suspicious Monday night.

"We did have fire inside of the building. This is a body shop. One car was on fire inside of the building. The crews took care of the fire pretty quickly. Now we have the State Fire Marshall's Office here on scene to do the investigation," said District Fire Chief Michael Strickland.

No injuries have been reported.
