The Clay County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at Loot 4 Gold on Blanding Boulevard near Arora Boulevard, where they arrested Sturgis, who owns and operates the business.

Deputies said his failure to record and report the items he received at the store, mainly jewelry, is illegal because it limits local law enforcement's ability to verify if the items are stolen from victims in our area.

Sturgis was charged with two counts of Secondhand Dealer Failure to Record/Report Transactions.

He was being held in the Clay County Jail on $10,000 bond.
