CCSO: Lost family located in Jennings State Forest

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – The Clay County Sheriff's Office confirmed a family of five has been located in the Jennings State Forest Friday evening, after they were reported lost.

A helicopter crew from the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office has found the family, according to Clay County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Mary Justino.

Justino said a ground crew then reached the family, with the guidance of the crew in the air.

Justino also said the two adults and three children appear to be alright. 

Clay County Fire-Rescue said the family went canoeing earlier on Friday and they became lost when it became dark. It is unclear how many hours they were lost.
