A Republican website is nearly begging former Nease High School, University of Florida and Denver Broco quarterback Tim Tebow to run for the congressional seat that will be left vacant by retiring U.S. Rep. Ander Crenshaw.

Red Alert Politics says if there's any chance the Heisman Trophy winner is interested, the GOP should jump on the opportunity.

"At age 28, he would be the youngest member of Congress, yet he has arguably done more to help children than any current congressperson," the website wrote. "Not only has he been a hero and a model of character for millions, he has also used the money he made through football to start the Tim Tebow Foundation, and his foundation is making a real impact, especially in Florida."

Tebow owns a local company and runs his foundation from Jacksonville.

He told Fox News at his recent charity golf tournament that a future in politics isn't impossible.

Crenshaw announced Wednesday he would seek a ninth term representing the 4th Congressional District.
