Police ID man killed Saturday on Beaver Street No description found
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police have identified the man shot and killed early Saturday afternoon on Beaver Street as 33-year-old Juan Carlos Lopez.
Sgt. Robert John with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the man was shot around 12:45 p.m Saturday on Beaver in front of the Dollar General store near Cahoon Road. Lopez was taken to a hospital, where he died.
A Dollar General employee told News4Jax he saw a man walk up to a car at a red light and shoot a passenger three times.
John said there was a traffic crash at the same intersection at the time of the shooting. JSO has not said if the two incidents are related. John said detectives are working to figure out if the man was shot inside or outside of a car.
