JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A sailor turned himself in to police Thursday after he escaped while being taken to NAS Jacksonville's pretrial detainment facility, according to attorney John Phillips.
"Sailor Anthony Telemacque came to my office tonight where we coordinated for him to turn himself into Jacksonville Sheriff's Office," said Phillips. "More details will be disclosed at a later date, but he turned himself in, fully cooperated and is in custody of law enforcement."

Police joined the search for the sailor who escaped while being taken to NAS Jacksonville's pretrial detainment facility on Wednesday, according to a Navy spokesman.
The sailor, identified as 21-year-old Anthony Telemacque (pictured), had gone UA -- officially known as unauthorized absence -- from the USS Iwo Jima. He broke away from the military police officers escorting him, according to NAS Jacksonville.
Telemacque was being transported to the base's pretrial detainment facility, known as the Brig. He jumped a fence, crossed Roosevelt Boulevard and was last seen running into Tillie Fowler Regional Park, an NAS Jacksonville spokesperson said.
Telemacque was transferred to the NAS Jax Brig Friday afternoon.
