Donald Trump coming to Jacksonville

Presidential candidate will hold rally at Jacksonville Landing

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The front runner among Republican presidential candidates, Donald Trump, will hold a campaign rally in Jacksonville next weekend.

The rally will be held at the Jacksonville Landing on Saturday, October 24.

"I'm very interested to see what Donald Trump says to people in Jacksonville when he comes and sees us next week in the Landing, our issues in Florida, how he thinks Governor Scott is doing. There are a lot of issues I'd like to see Donald Trump weigh in on," said Alex Pantinakis, a Republican in Duval County.

Pantinakis said although he's a Republican, he hasn't jumped entirely on the Trump bandwagon.

"It's safe to say, Donald Trump is stirring the pot. Certain issues wouldn't have been talked about if Trump hadn't gotten in the race. It's been interesting, how people have reacted to issues he's brought up," Pantinakis said.

News4JAX spoke with U.S. Congressman Buddy Carter from Georgia just before we found out Trump is coming.

"Certainly some people will say Trump, Carson, Fiorina – they're not going to sustain. Well they've sustained so far! And they, I think, have raised a number of issues," said Congressman Carter.

Carter also said Trump has led to a robust discussion and believes we need more successful business people in government.

Doors to the Trump rally at the Jacksonville Landing open at 10 a.m. and Trump will speak at 12 p.m.

Attendees must get a ticket through this website.
