Second time home caught fire in a week, according to State Fire Marshal

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The State Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of a Westside fire, after it went up in flames for the second time in a week.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department received the a around 11 p.m. in reference to a fire at 5941 105th Street and arrived on scene just three minutes later.

Sources told News4Jax that heavy flames were showing upon arrival.

Firefighters were able to quickly put out the fire, according to JFRD.

The State Fire Marshal was called to the home to investigate the cause.

The State Fire Marshal said no one was inside the home when they arrived. He said the home may have been vacant.

Investigators aren't sure yet what caused Wednesday's fire, but said this is the second time the house caught fire in a week.
