GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A former Florida Gators football player from Jacksonville has been charged with attempted sexual battery and false imprisonment after police said he tried to attack a woman in his Gainesville apartment.

Daniel McMillian, 23, is a customer of the company the woman works for, and she was at his apartment for business, police said.

According to this arrest report, McMillian called the woman into his bedroom and then trapped her in the room and exposed his privates to her.

Police said he grabbed the woman's butt and tried to pull her down, but she kneed him in the groin and was able to escape the apartment and call police.

The officer who took the report said the woman was “physically shaking and hysterically crying.”

She identified McMillian in a photo and he was booked into the Alachua County Jail.

McMillian, a linebacker, played in seven games as a senior for the Gators last season. He played high school football at First Coast High in Jacksonville.
