17-year-old accused of stealing dad's gun, taking it to Oakleaf High School

Investigators say gun found in teen's car in school parking lot

CLAY COUNTY, Fla. – A 17-year-old boy is accused of stealing his father’s gun, then taking it to Oakleaf High School.

Hunter Cianteo faces charges of grand theft of a firearm and possession of a firearm on school property, according to the Clay County Sheriff's Office.

Sunday, Cianteo’s dad called the Clay County Sheriff’s Office to report his pistol was stolen from his Middleburg residence, the incident report said. 

Then on Monday, his wife called deputies because she believed Cianteo had the gun at school, according to the incident report. 

Investigators said they searched his car in the school parking lot and found the weapon.

Cianteo was arrested and later transported to the Juvenile Justice Center in Jacksonville, deputies said.
