The email says that the recipient has won a prize and should contact the listed person to claim it. Then, it asks for personal information.

Once someone responded to the "contact person," the scammers will then request financial information, saying that a tax or fee be paid to claim the prize.

Anyone who receives the email should not respond, the Florida Lottery advised.

The Florida Lottery says they do not contact anyone to let them know they won a prize unless they entered a promotional game or second chance drawing on the official Florida Lottery website or social media pages.
