Florida man threatens on Twitter to kill Trump, police say

Dominic Joseph Puopolo, 51, arrested after posting video to Twitter

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – A Miami Beach man was arrested Tuesday, a day after he threatened on Twitter to kill President-elect Donald Trump.

According to an arrest report, Dominic Joseph Puopolo, 51, posted a video on his Twitter page, where he said, "This is the 16th of January 2017. I will be at the review/inauguration and I will kill President Trump, President-elect Trump today."

Police said Puopolo was found Tuesday leaving a Subway on Washington Avenue and was detained in the 200 block of Fifth Street.

He was taken to the Miami Beach Police Department, where he confessed to detectives that he stated on Twitter that he would kill Trump, the report said.

Puopolo was arrested on a charge of threatening to harm a public servant.

He is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.
