Woman found dead in crashed car Car crashed through fence at St. Augustine business park No description found
ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office said 43-year-old Dawn Martin was found dead Sunday morning in a car that ran through a fence at the Yelton Business Park in St. Augustine.
Deputies were dispatched at 6:30 a.m. to a report of a traffic crash at 2435 Dobbs Road, where they found a 1997 silver Honda Civic which had crashed through the fence. Inside the vehicle, deputies located a woman dead.
Deputies believe the crash occurred sometime over night. Detectives also believe that speed was a contributing factor in the crash, and that the victim was not wearing a seatbelt.
The cause of death is pending an autopsy by the medical examiner. The Sheriff's Office says this remains an active investigation.
