Charlton County woman's car found; she's missing

FOLKSTON, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is searching for a 34-year-old woman last seen Monday near her Folkston home.

Tesheka Maria Campbell is described as a black woman, 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds. Her car was found about a mile from her home on a road that her family said she would never take. Her purse was in the car, but her cellphone was gone.

Family members wanted to help search the area, but the Charlton County Sheriff's Office said that might compromise the investigation.

"We're ready to search, but we have to listen to the authorities," said Loutricia Gibbs-Tolber, Campbell's cousin.

Family and friends gathered Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil in honor of Campbell, who has a 16-year-old son.

"She is known for that smile and making you laugh and having conversation for hours and hours about nothing," said Campbell's sister, Shauntae Campbell. "Everyone was her best friend."

Authorities have not said if they suspect foul play, but family members are very concerned.

"This is a feeling that no one should have to go through: wondering where your loved one is; wondering if they're OK," said Shauntae Campbell. "My sister, nor anyone deserves to be out there wondering if they're hurt, dead or alive."

Family members pleaded Tuesday night for any information that might help find Tesheka.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call the Charlton County Sheriff's Office at 912-496-7321 or the Kingsland GBI office at 912-729-6198.
