Heartbroken mother honors daughter's memory with fashion show

Tiphne Hollis killed in drive-by shooting in 2010

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Family members of Tiphne Hollis, killed 7-years ago in a drive-by shooting, held a fashion show in her honor Saturday afternoon at the downtown Jacksonville library.

The event featured several local leaders, community members, and even a radio host from New York.

Hollis' mother has held events every year in memory of her daughter.

"I wanted to do something that Tiphne honored. I wanted to continue her greatness cause this is something Tiphne had loved to do. She was very high into fashion and I think to this day, this is what she would be doing -- you know with her own fashion line and her own boutique," said Shanda Whitaker-Ward, Hollis' mother.

Hollis' death remains unsolved. Police have not arrested the gunman who killed her in 2010.

I'm waiting faithfully on the lord to bring me justice, to bring me peace about my daughter case," said Whitaker-Ward.

Jacksonville police continue to ask anyone with information in this homicide to come forward.
