The State Attorney's Office in Broward County has since dropped those charges. No reason was given.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue confirmed Lane-Berry has been on paid administrative leave. JFR says it has not yet received the documents it needs from Broward County to change his status.

Lane-Berry has been with JFR since 2014 and works out of Station 44.

Randy Wyse, the president of the Jacksonville Fire Union, said Lane-Berry will not be back at Station 44 during the criminal process. Wyse said the union believes in due process and will let the criminal system work out the case before handling it administratively.
