Jacksonville man wins $1 million in scratch-off game

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 53-year-old Jacksonville man claimed a $1 million prize in the $10,000,000 Florida Cash Scratch-Off game at Florida Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee, the Florida Lottery announced Monday.

Aleksandar Lazic chose to receive his winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $745,634. He purchased his winning ticket from Publix at 13820 Old St. Augustine Road in Jacksonville. The retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus commission for selling the winning Scratch-Off ticket.
 
The $25 game, $10,000,000 Florida Cash, features more than 11 million winning tickets and more than $624 million in total cash prizes. The game's overall odds of winning are 1-in-2.88.
 
Scratch-Off games are an important part of the Lottery's portfolio of games, comprising approximately 67 percent of ticket sales and generating more than $632 million for the Educational Enhancement Trust Fund (EETF) in fiscal year 2014-15.
