Escaped inmate turns herself in

JSO: Woman was on work furlough program when she disappeared Thursday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – An inmate turned herself in Monday after escaping from a work release program in Northwest Jacksonville Thursday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Debra Ercolano, 55, is serving a sentence for organized fraud.

The Sheriff's Office said she was on work furlough at a business on Lane Avenue near Ira Road Thursday afternoon when corrections officials were notified that something happened to her ankle bracelet. Corrections officials responded, and could not find Ercolano.

Five days later, she turned herself in, the Sheriff's Office said.
