Water restored after downtown water main break

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Water has been restored to several downtown businesses after a 16-inch water main break Friday morning.

There were reports of poor water pressure and water outages on Talleyrand Avenue, Gator Bowl Boulevard, A. Philip Randolph Boulevard and East Bay Street.

"We started receiving calls around 6 o'clock this morning regarding a water main break," JEA spokeswoman Gerri Boyce said. "We were able to isolate it so all the businesses that were affected, their pressure is coming up, if has not already."

A repair crew was on site on Gator Bowl Boulevard near EverBank Field. Some areas lost all water, while some had low pressure.

JEA put in a new segment of pipe that's 10 feet long.
