JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Firefighters battled a house fire in an Eastside neighborhood Tuesday night, according to the Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department.
Police detained a man at the scene, but he had not been arrested.
JFRD got the call about the house fire just after 7 p.m. Flames were showing from the home at 1131 East 14th Street when firefighters arrived.
Neighbors said they were frightened, but were glad no was one hurt in the fire.
"I was really scared, I did what any person would do -- call an ambulance," said Brittany Mccorikal.
Police said the house was abandoned and no one was injured in the fire.
