JSO: Victim gets gun away from armed robber

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A man said he was the victim of an attempted armed robbery on University Boulevard on Wednesday, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Officers were dispatched to 3900 West University Blvd. just before 7 p.m. in reference to an armed robbery Wednesday evening.

When officers arrived at the Auto Zone on University Boulevard and Powers Avenue, a man told them that he had been robbed at gunpoint before getting into his car.

The victim said a man approached him and tried to rob him at gunpoint, but after a brief struggle, the victim managed to grab the gun, and the robber took off running. The gun was taken into evidence by police.

No money was taken and no injuries were reported from the incident.

Police are now looking for a black man, who was least seen wearing all black.
