1 dead after house fire near Myrtle Avenue, JSO says

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman in her 80s is dead after a house fire on Wednesday night on Durkee Drive, just east of Myrtle Avenue North, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
The woman was rescued from the home by Jacksonville Fire and Rescue crew members and was taken to a local hospital where she died, JSO said.
JSO Homicide detectives, crime scene investigators and the State Fire Marshal’s Division are investigating the cause of the fire, JSO said.
Foul play is not suspected.
