Man shot on Westside dies a week later, police say

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 27-year-old man shot in the Lackawanna area just over a week ago has died and his death is being investigated as a homicide, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said.

Police said Raymon Cummings was found shot May 14 on Nolan Street and was taken to a hospital in serious condition. He died of his injuries Monday, police said.

Tennelle Cannon, 20, who is accused of shooting Cummings several times was arrested Wednesday on an attempted murder charge. JSO and the State Attorney's Office will "upgrade the charges when appropriate," police said.

Cannon is being held in the Duval County jail on $500,000 bail.
