Man hospitalized in Arlington drive-by shooting

Victim tells JSO car drove up, person began shooting him

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened Friday night in Arlington.

Neighbors called police at 7:50 p.m. Friday to report hearing multiple gunshots on Dickson Road.

When officers arrived, they found a young man in his late teens or early 20s lying in a driveway near 5700 Dickson Road. Police said the man was shot several times.

The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department arrived and took the man to UF Health with non-life-threatening injuries.

The man told JSO that he was walking down the road when a car drove up and an unknown person starting shooting at him. The vehicle then fled in an unknown direction.

Police currently do not have any information about possible suspects or a vehicle description.
