FORT WHITE, Fla. – A Department of Corrections K9 team from Baker Correctional Institution located a missing 96-year-old man during a search effort initiated by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.
William Carlson, of Fort White, had been missing for two days.

A concerned neighbor reported that she had not seen Carlson was missing.
Deputies noted that Carlson's vehicle was present and the home was unlocked.
Around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, the K9 team located Mr. Carlson about a half mile away, lying in tall grass near the wood line off SW Briar Path Terrence.
He was taken to the hospital. He told deputies that he went for a walk and fell. He had been out all night.
