Missing UNF student texted sister: 'I am going to end it tonight'

Also told friend 'You may not see me tomorrow'

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Texts and statements from missing UNF student George Louissaint suggest that the then-20-year-old considered harming himself the night he disappeared, according to the missing person report.

According to the report, Louissaint told his roommate, "You may not see me tomorrow" after the roommate said Louissaint became upset about an issue with his girlfriend and ran into a wooded area on the UNF campus.

The report also states that Louissaint's mother told police that the student texted his sister "I love you...I love you, I am going to end it tonight." around 2:32 a.m. on Sunday, around the last time anyone had contact with him and 30 minutes before the first officers were dispatched to Osprey Flats.

The report also states that Louissaint was using alcohol the night he disappeared. Louissaint's roommate told police that Louissaint was drinking and that he ran into the wooded area in the southwest portion of Osprey Flats, near the rear entrance of the Glen Kernan subdivision and Kernan Boulevard.

Ford and several others searched the area before calling police, but could not find Louissaint.

Loiussaint went missing Sunday morning, touching off a search of the UNF campus that included as many as 150 searchers at a time, covered 14 square miles and 27 bodies of water, according to police. The search began to be wound down on Wednesday, but included additional water searches on Thursday.

Police searched for ways Louissaint might have left campus but have found no good leads.

"He basically disappeared into the wind," said Jacksonville Sheriff's Office director Michelle Cook.

Tuesday, police implemented a grid survey using 10 teams of 10 officers each, but it resulted in no additional leads or clues.

Louissaint was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call university police at 904-620-2800, or the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office at 904-630-0500.
