Police ID 1 killed in double shooting in NW Jax
Two men were found shot in Northwest Jacksonville. One of them has died.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Two men were found shot in a Northwest Jacksonville neighborhood Monday night. One of them has died.
Sgt. Robert John of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said officers were called to the intersection of Portsmouth Avenue and Waynesboro Avenue after 8 p.m. Monday.
Officers said they found two men on the road shot. One, later identified as 28-year-old Justin J. Grant, died at the scene. The other man, whose name was not released, was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover.
John told News4Jax there was a third man at the scene who may have witnessed the shooting. That man was being questioned by police.
John said the relationship between the victims was not yet known.
