Police ID man shot, killed in Hogan's Creek

Police searching for suspect

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Police have identified a 54-year-old man shot and killed Nov. 14 in the Hogan's Creek area.

Police said they found Curtis Young Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound at 16th and Market around 7:45 a.m.

Young was taken to UF Health, according to police, but he died at the scene. Police believe Young may have been robbed.

Police said they searched the neighborhood and interviewed neighbors who live in the area.

Investigators believe they are looking for a suspect, described as a black man, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, in his early 30s, wearing a black shirt and tan shorts with a beard. Police said he was running westbound on 16th Street toward Main Street. Another witness said they believe the man has a full beard.
