Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says woman's body has signs of foul play

BALDWIN, Fla. – The body of a 25-year-old woman was found on the side of the road Sunday night in Baldwin, police said.

The death of the victim, later identified as Nikki Lynn Redden, is being investigated as a homicide, police said.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said a deputy on patrol about 7:45 p.m. found the body in the cul-de-sac of Baldwin Tradeplex Circle, off U.S. 301 outside Hard Rock Materials.

"I can tell you that the body has signs of foul play and that we will be working together with the medical examiner's office for the rest of the night and into the early morning hours," JSO homicide Sgt. Churck Ford said.

According to police, the company was closed Sunday. The business has been cooperative with police in their investigative efforts, police said.

Police said the business manager has expressed condolences to Redden's family.

Investigators were back on the scene Monday morning as they await the cause and manner of death.
