Police have released a picture from surveillance video obtained by the BP gas station of the person they believe to be a suspect in the shooting.
Witnesses told police two men sped off down Live Oak Drive after the shooting in a small red four-door vehicle (pictured in surveillance photo). The vehicle has a temporary tag.
Police are searching the area and checking surveillance video at the gas station and surrounding businesses to see if they can locate the vehicle.
"It appears it happened very quickly, according to some of the witnesses," Waldrup said. "There was a small altercation, and then they heard gunshots. It happened very quick."
The altercation took place outside the store in the parking lot, and several people witnessed the shooting, Waldrup said.
He said some witnesses attempted to follow the vehicle that left the scene but were unable to.
Botonjic arrived at the gas station alone in a vehicle, Waldrup said. It is unclear how many times he was shot or if he knew the suspects.
