Police said a call came in about 3:30 a.m. from a woman saying she was being held by an armed person at a home on the block.

Police said the initial investigation led them to believe the caller was inside with the suspect, and three adults and four children were safely removed from the home. It was unclear at that point if anyone else was inside, but SWAT soon cleared the home.

The whereabouts of the caller and the motive for the call remain unknown, police said.

Neighbors were asked to stay indoors during the incident.

"They just blocked off the street in front of my house on Nolan and Day. They're putting up red and white tape as we speak. I guess I can't leave out of my driveway at this point to take my daughters to school," said Juanita Worthen, who lives in the community.

She said with the recent triple murder in Green Cove Springs, she was fearful of the situation.

"I have three girls in this house. So yes, we are definitely concerned, especially with everything that's been going on," Worthen said.
