Police: Wife shoots husband in leg on Westside

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A woman shot her husband in the leg Sunday night on the Westside, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Police said the shooting was reported on Pinebay Circle North, which is north of I-295 off Collins Road.

Officers initially responded to Baptist hospital downtown after reports that a person had arrived with a gunshot wound.

Police said the man suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg, and his wife was in custody. She was pulled over driving a van near their home.

Police are investigating whether the shooting was in self-defense.
