Police: Resident shoots, kills intruder in Arlington

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 26-year-old man was shot and killed early Tuesday morning after, police said, he tried to break into an Arlington apartment.

After midnight, a resident at Arlington Village Apartments, located on Bert Road, north of the Arlington Expressway, told police a man tried to break into an apartment.
The resident got a gun and shot the intruder, killing him, police said.
Police identified the man who was killed as Ronald Givins.
The shooting death is still under investigation by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.
