Throughout the investigation into Contos' disappearance, officials said they found his disappearance as being suspicious.

Several attempts have been made over the year to locate Contos, including erecting a billboard announcing a reward for information on his disappearance as well as the Flagler County Sheriff's Office going on "Good Day Orlando" to discuss the case.

Detectives said they are still following up on any leads into what may have happened to Contos.

"We believe strongly that someone in our community knows what happened to George Contos and hope the up to $10,000 reward will be useful in obtaining information," Flagler County Sheriff James L. Manfire said. "If it takes money to solve this case, we are prepared to pay for information."

Anyone with information on Contos' whereabouts is asked to contact Detective Gabe Fuentes at 386-585-5599.
