Vacant home catches fire in Northwest Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department put out a house fire in Northwest Jacksonville Thursday evening.

Firefighters responded to the fire on 1500 West Second Street near Tyler Street at 7:23 p.m. Crews quickly extinguished the house fire.

It was a vacant home and there was no one inside at the time of the fire, according to JFRD.

Authorities said they do not know what caused the fire.
