The Florida Highway Patrol initially received multiple reports of hit-and-run crashes at 3:30 p.m. on the Interstate 295 east beltway in Duval County.

More calls began to come in as Gleaton traveled north on Interstate 95 into the Nassau County area, troopers said.

Multiple troopers were called to help locate Gleaton and were able to pass the information to the Georgia State Patrol and the Camden County Sheriff's Office.

Camden County deputies found Gleaton in her SUV around the 5-mile marker on Interstate 95 and attempted to conduct a traffic stop.

During the course of the traffic stop, Gleaton struck a Camden County patrol car, troopers said.

Gleaton was finally stopped and arrested by the Georgia State Patrol 2 miles from where she hit the patrol car, according to troopers.

Two children had been in the SUV the entire time, troopers said. One of them was younger than 5 years old.

Troopers said it appeared a total of eight cars were involved in Florida and possibly two more in Georgia. Troopers did not say if anyone was injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol is working with the Georgia State Patrol to determine charges and a reasoning for the events. Both investigations are ongoing.

The children are not being named pending further investigation into their identities and location of their family, troopers said.
